Despite reading the reviews and examining the web site nothing prepared us for the amazing location of this perfect apartment. As we arrived at the water door via water taxi from the station to be met by the Truly Venice representative it really was a matter of 'pinch me, I think I'm dreaming'. The apartment is beautifully appointed with great attention to detail. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, great bathroom with a large shower (not always the case in Europe). WiFi is fast. Then there are the views! We could have spent the entire week just watch the world go by on the Grand Canal .... but there is so much to explore in Venice and this apartment is perfectly located. Lots of great places to eat nearby plus supermarkets, delicatessens and wine shops. I would return to the Doge apartment in heartbeat.January 2017, Jan (Australia)
This is our second time renting an apartment through Truly Venice and it was wonderful. This particular property is perfect for a romantic getaway. The bed is comfortable and the apartment has everything you would want - a well appointed kitchen, private canal access, fast wi-fi and close to the Accademia Bridge, several vaporetto stops and many lovely markets. We spent our time in Venice exploring the city and enjoyed every moment. It's so nice to not have to eat out 3 meals a day, and having access to so much great food, it's wonderful to cook at home as well as take advantage of the nearby Venetian restaurants. Lovely!Septembre 2017, Susan (United States)
This turned out to be a wonderful place. Less than 15 minutes from St. Mark's once we learned the way. The unit is just off Campo San Stefano, very centrally located. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Water coming into the front hall added to the Venetian mystique! Would highly recommend this place!October 2016, Jim (Canada)
The apartment, OMG location, service offered by Hannah, the welcome agent went above and beyond to help us with difficulties with lost luggage, arranged for a fabulous tour of the city with a very charming guide--even had cold Prosecco ready at our arrival! ...we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.October 2016, Mary (United States)
We can't say enough about the apartment, Hannah (your Truly Venice agent) and Venice. We had a fabulous stay. The only thing that interfered was lost luggage (from Vueling airline. Hint: NEVER use them), and Hannah did everything and more to help us with a difficult time. Also, her guide that she suggested for a city tour was amazing. Would highly recommend the apartment, your agency, anytime.October 2016, Melinda (United States)
The service we received from start to finish could not be faulted in any way. The Doge itself was extremely comfortable with a well-equipped and clean kitchen area and excellent bathroom, shower and toilet facilities. It also has a well-stocked and varied library if you wish to sit in the garden - or on the waterfront with the traffic of the Grand Canal passing you by. Although I knew from the brochure where it was situated, I could not really believe that we were staying in part of such an old and historic building right on the Grand Canal! If only it could have talked to us! What stories it may have been able to tell! The private Water Taxi taking us to and from the airport was a wonderful experience in itself but the highlight, if one could be pinpointed in the magic that is Venice, was the private trip around the islands recommended by Daniella of Truly Venice. Our English speaking guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and was able to impart that knowledge in a friendly yet professional way. Thank you Truly-Venice.April 2011, Jennie (United Kingdom)
This is my 10th time renting apartments from Truly Venice and they are the best agency in Venice to work with as well as the best selections of properties to rent from. This particular apartment is very comfortable, quiet and has all you need for a very comfortable stay. I stopped staying at hotels once I started renting apartments from Truly Venice.June 2012, Theresa (Canada)
Friendly and efficient booking agency. The apartment is very suitable for a mature aged couple. Grand Canal side location in a famous palace in the San Marco region. Very quiet in spite of all the colourful water traffic outside the windows. A large, well furnished apartment and with quite adequate kitchen and bathroom facilities. Front door water taxi access. Convenient to well stocked local food and wine shops, restaurants, vaporetto and traghetti stops and reasonable walking distance to the major tourist attractions and locations.September 2012, Colin (Australia)
I stayed in the Doge apartment for 4 amazing weeks which gave me opportunity to really settle in and explore Venice at my own leisure, it was simply wonderful, the beautiful old palazzo, with all its history seeping through the walls was the perfect retreat, the water door and the view onto the canal were the icing on the cake. The doge apartment is central to everything you want, as a tourist, to explore, but at the same time, it is extremely private, and peaceful. The staff at Truly Venice were so helpful and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone interested... in fact, I am leaving my home in Australia again to spend more time in Venice at Doge apartment!February 2013, Suzie (Australia)
We had a fabulous five night stay at the Doge Apartment. We didn't want to leave. The apartment is in an old palace actually on the Grand Canal with its own water door. It is very quiet and away from the tourists, but minutes from some wonderful cafés and restaurants, and an easy 15 minute walk to San Marco. We have fallen in love with Venice, but also with the apartment. The apartment itself was very roomy, spotlessly clean and full of antiques. Plenty of clean towels, bed linen, and a fully equipped kitchen. We will definitely return. The whole experience was made so simple by Truly Venice, from the time of booking until after we left. They arranged all our water taxis and someone met us at the apartment when we arrived. We wouldn't use any other company when we return to VeniceOctober 2014, David & Peter (United Kingdom)
