Mocenigo is a truly exclusive and super-spacious Venetian style apartment located at the second floor of a building facing a picturesque canal in San Marco
Located at the second floor of a "Venetian Palazzo" facing a picturesque canal just a stone's throw from Piazza San Marco and Rialto, the Mocenigo apartment is laid out over 200 square meters. It is composed of an ample living area with canal view and access to a nice terrace with table and chairs.
There's a modern and functional kitchen with oven, toaster, coffee maker (American and Moca), dishwasher, large fridge with freezer, there is a laundry room, and most importantly there are 3 double bedrooms that can also become twin, there are 2 single bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms.
Every particular of this house takes us back to the Serenissima Republic epoch, when rich fabrics were woven by expert artisans and laid out in nobles residences, when wood was the main material used for beams, furniture and flooring, when the prestige of a family was reflected in ample rooms with frescoed high ceilings. You can find all of these characteristics in the classic and elegant Mocenigo apartment.
Despite the decidedly historical ambience of this house, you will find all sort of contemporary comfort: every room is air conditioned, there is high speed internet connection, washing machine, satellite TV, DVD player and CD player.
This home is highly suggested for families or groups of friends who require plenty of room, who wish a house with a terrace and canal view.

Close walk from the water taxi from the airport. We were met promptly by Thomas from Truly Venice. He was helpful and oriented us to our apartment and Venice. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Great to open the windows and watch/listen to the gondoliers below. We had seven people, but could have comfortably had ten. Loved every minute of our time in Venice.September 2017, Diane (United States)
We were three generations visiting Venice for a week, and the Mocenigo apartment was perfect for our needs: it is spacious and attractive and well appointed. The location -- half way between San Marco and the Rialto Bridge -- should be the most touristy part of Venice, and yet, because one goes through some tiny alleys to get to the quiet courtyard where the entrance is, it feels very separate from the crowds. There's a little market next door and a larger supermarket not far from the apartment and the restaurant immediately downstairs is outstanding: possibly the best and most innovative meal we had in Venice. We ate breakfast on the apartment's little terrace every morning, and had drinks there most evenings before heading out to dinner -- between 6 and 7 pm the singing gondoliers often pass by on the little canal right in front. We kept the windows open for great cross breeze during the day, then used the air conditioners at night to avoid mosquitos, which are everywhere in Venice. The place is clean and in good shape and all the appliances work well. There is a washer but not a dryer; our clothes dried quickly on a rack out on the roof. Our one challenge was hot water, which wasn't abundant (it is an on-demand system, which is better than the ancient geysers in a lot of European apartments, but you can't run more than one shower at a time). Potential renters should know that the apartment is two flights up with no elevator. It's also several blocks to the closest vaporetto stop or taxi stand, so if you have trouble walking you'd probably have an easier time in a hotel. Our favorite activity in Venice is wandering around on the little streets and discovering tiny courtyards, but we know that it isn't something that everyone can do. We loved our time in Mocenigo and would recommend it to others!June 2017, Jane (NY, USA))

A perfect organization from booking to the reception at the foot of Rialto. The representative accompanied us from the taxi to the apartment, located on the 2nd floor of a Venetian palace, nestled in a small square very quiet, 3 minutes from Saint Mark's Square. The apartment is spacious. Very well arranged and equipped. The decor is "pure juice" with antique furniture, Murano chandeliers, beautiful bathrooms in marble, frescoed ceilings. Ideal location between Rialto and Piazza San Marco, behind a commercial street. Important detail: the supermarket (very rare in Venice) and the gastronomic restaurant at the foot of the door! In summary: very nice place to stay in a group, family or friends. Truly Venice responds precisely and quickly by email all your previous questions. (Translated)July 2015, Hugo (France)
We stayed at the Mocenigo for several days in January. We were 2 families, we have 2 younger kids and my in-laws have two teen age kids. The apartment was spacious and really has the feel of living in a grand palazzo of bygone splendor. I say that in a good way, it was kind of shabby chic, a little worn here and there, but that just gave the whole atmosphere a more authentic feel. The kids loved running around the place and coming up through the entryway, which some have described as dank, but hey, there is a door that opens onto the canal in the entry foyer, it's Venice people! The kitchen is passable, but sufficient. Frankly, we weren't there to cook. The location is superb, a 5 minute walk from either Rialto or San Marco vaporetto stops. Restaurants and shopping right at your doorstep. We parked at Tronchetto and took a vaporetto straight to Rialto, which was about a 30 minute ride. The rep from Truly Venice was great, very helpful and responsive. The only less than perfect experiences were the heating and internet. Although it was not super freezing in Venice when we were there, it was still in the 30s at night and the windows are not at all airtight. The heating system had a few hiccups, and it took me a day or two to figure out that the boiler needed to be reset every now and then. We also didn't realize we weren't working one of the overhead heaters correctly so it was as much our fault as anything. On the wifi: the signal is very weak and only works really in the living room. There is also not much bandwidth, so it's OK for email but surfing is a bit of a pain. This didn't really bother me so much, but my teenage niece and nephew were not thrilled by this :-). Overall, it's a great apartment for larger groups, it definitely beats holing up in multiple rooms in a hotel. It gives a more Venetian aspect to your stay in Venice and as I said, location can't be better.January 2015, Kurt (United States)
Three couples shared this apartment for 3 nights in Sept, 2012 and you couldn't ask for a better location in Venice! Less than 5-minute walk to St. Marks and waterfront, 10 mins to Rialto Bridge. Beds were very comfortable and apartment was very clean. The rep from Truly Venice met us at the water taxi (near Rialto) and, after an easy walk with rolling luggage, checked us in quickly and easily. The location can't be beat...right above a small grocery market, shares a piazza with a terrific restaurant, and a short walk to everything you want to do in Venice! Even a great canal view with singing gondoliers passing by quite often! If you want to get the most out of a stay in Venice and need accommodations for 6 or more people, this apartment is perfect!February 2013, Al & Joan (United States)
Mocenigo met all of our needs: close to La Fenice, to food shopping, and to the Grand Canal for walking trips to other areas. It was comfortable, spacious, well appointed, and the kitchen was pretty well supplied for all of our cooking (including Thanksgiving for 7!). We highly recommend it.March 2013, Joan (United States)
Our family of eight ( ages 8-72 ) had a great time in Venice living in Mocenigo. It is spacious and right above a nice quiet canal favored by gondoliers. It's up about 40 stairs, but this gets you enough above the busy calles. The entrance is on a small courtyard, there is a nice little health food store there as well as a wonderful restaurant. It could not be more centrally located. Most of the rooms are spacious (kitchen small but fine.) Pictures accurately show what it is like. Truly Venice people were always helpful.May 2013, H.S. We stayed here for 3 days - 3 adults and 3 teenagers - and all of us had a great time and plenty of room. Easily located near St.Mark's, the Rialto Bridge,Rialto vaporetto stop, and a short walk to the supermarket it is still quiet at night. The kitchen is a little small but easy to cook in. The young woman who checked us in was really wonderful and very helpful. There is an excellent restaurant in the courtyard outside the apartment and an organic food store too. As soon as we left, my daughters wanted to know when we could return. We will definitely be back.July 2013, Susanne (United States)
We were a party of four including my father (aged 88), my brother (age 57), a nephew (age 15) and me (age 62). I was the only person in the group who had previously visited Venice (in 2006) so the others assigned me responsibility for finding accommodation. From my very first e-mail exchange with Truly Venice I was impressed. Everyone at Truly Venice with whom I communicated via e-mail responded quickly (usually within a few hours even with a 9-hour time difference) and was extremely helpful and highly professional. The staff at Truly Venice were a great help in arranging our accommodation, but they also made excellent recommendations about train travel from Rome; and they arranged the water taxi from St. Lucia (the train station) to the apartment. When we arrived by water taxi Enrico was there to meet us and walked with us to the apartment (approximately 300 metres from the water taxi) where he gave us an excellent briefing on all aspects of the Mocenigo apartment. Enrico also gave us his contact information in case we needed any assistance during our visit. The apartment itself is terrific! The location is perfect: absolutely in the centre of the San Marco neighbourhood (only about 300 meters from Piazza San Marco), but tucked away on a quiet court. There's an excellent organic grocery store and a superb restaurant - Ai Mercanti - also located in this tiny court. Inside the apartment everything worked perfectly (including the showers, the toilets, the clothes washer, the kitchen appliances, the wifi and thankfully, the air conditioning) and the beds were comfortable. We were very comforable in Mocenigo. Mocenigo is up two easy flights of marble stairs and is fresh, clean and gracious. The next time I return to Venice I will definitely contact Truly Venice and I hope that Mocenigo is available.July 2013, J.W. (Canada)
