One of our favourite areas of Venice, Cannaregio is the "local" district, less touristy, the place where many resident Venetians live. You can find lots of shops, markets, even the restaurants and bars are reasonably priced! The Cannaregio Canal is the second widest in Venice, and joins the Grand Canal on the south end to the northern lagoon. A lively, interesting area, served by the public transport Vaporetto line n.1 along the Grand Canal, or the so called "Gira Città" routes n. 41, 42, 51 and 52 along the northern end.
The Gradenigo apartment is located in the heart of the Cannaregio district, thus very central, only 3-4 minutes’ walk to the Cà D'Oro Vaporetto stop (particularly recommended if you arrive by train or car) and to the Madonna dell'Orto Alilaguna stop (very convenient direct water transport if you land at the Marco Polo Airport), even if our personal suggestion is to spoil yourself taking a private water taxi that drops you off directly in front of the entrance door of the apartment!
The only downside is possibly the number of steps to reach the apartment, about 60, even if the stairway is very large and not steep at all. We recommend the apartment to both families and group of friends. The rental fee listed online refers to groups of up to 6 people, there is a 10% surcharge for each extra person, please enquire to obtain the quotation.

Spacious and airy, this elegant apartment is a short distance from the rail station or airport via vaporetto or ferry . Right on a stretch of canal with good restaurants and bars for an early espresso or late drink it is nevertheless a very tranquil and relaxing neighbourhood situated at a comfortable distance away from the tourist hubbub of central Venice . Perfect spot for a family get together .

From the moment we were met on arrival in Venice to the date of departure one week later we never had a problem with the accomodation. The rooms, on two floors, were big enough for 5 people to spread out without being on top of each other. The rooms were clean, the showers hot and the shops within walking distance. There are also bars and restaurants with easy reach of the front door. The holiday was a pleasure with every turn a picture to take. Couldn't recoment this aparment enough.

We rented this property for a larger group of 6 adults and 3 small children. We were given great directions to reach the apartment and meet Enrico at the vaporetto stop to get us to the property. The apartment was very spacious and clean, as well as comfortable for our group. Great places to dine and drink around the property! Great communication from Truly Venice for booking, directions, and follow up. Would recommend to anyone on the fence!

Perfectly equipped on all aspects: wifi, kitchen, lounge. Very brightl, very neat, and contemporary. There is a small garden next to it and the district has remained authentically warm and relaxed. We can only recommend this place of great value for money for all travelers / families who would rather avoid the San Marco herds. The area is Venetian authentic, so you should be able to climb some stairs. We rented through Truly Venice who proved very attentive and efficient.

Wonderful Venice! We were very happy with the service we received from Truly Venice and would recommend them. The location of the property was superb and the interior was just as described. The apartment was very well equipped, but as a party of 7 we would have liked an additional front door key. There were several restaurants immediately outside of the property, we ate at most of them and found a good variety of food and prices. We hope to return to Venice in the future and will certainly consider using Truly Venice again.

Fantastic Venice home away from home. A wonderful place for a Christmas holiday. Comfortable, convenient and great service. A beautiful, relaxing home away from home.

"So Very Happy" We were six: two grandparents, two middle-aged parents, a 13-year-old and a ten-year-old. I don't know how to express how pleased we all were! So much space! Such charming views! I hung out the window every day to watch activity on the canals. I just reread the description of the apartment. It's entirely accurate. I would just add that each of the three bedrooms has a bath and each bed/bathroom suite has doors that seal off the rest of the apartment. Great privacy. Also a good kitchen setup with good cooking equipment. Comfortable beds with nice soft, smooth sheets. We bought seven day vaporetto passes and rode in the open stern area. We took a lesson with RowVenice.com and spent an hour learning how to row a gondola. (After that we looked closely at how the gondoliers handled their oars.) We ate nearby at Vini di Gigio. We walked over to Fondamente Nove and ate at Restaurant alvise. There we met a friendly French couple who told us to try the hot chocolate at Rosa Salva (delicious with great gobs of whipped cream.) I had great pumpkin ravioli at the Peggy Guggenheim. Our granddaughter kept a journal recording the gelati flavors she had sampled We ate at home: food from the local supermarket and nearby bakeries and pastry shops. Some of us stayed home more than others. That was very comfortable. One of us bought a chorus pass and visited 16 churches in 7 days! We attended free concerts at two different churches. We admired the Rialto Market. I bought a nice necklace at Genninger Studio in Dorsoduro. Two bridges away was the Church of the Madonna de l'Orto. So spare and beautiful. The area: calm, quiet and charming. Service: Everything that was necessary had been anticipated for us. We didn't pay proper attention when Enrico explained the washing machine, but he graciously came within 5 minutes when we called for help. Daniela was the soul of efficiency and calm. The whole experience: a wonderful gift to our family.

Just the best possible experience! The apartment was fantastic! Very spacious and well equipped in a wonderful location with a fabulous canal view right from the dining room window. Actually the view from our bedroom was a beautiful garden so we had great vistas from three rooms. The kitchen was well equipped with all utensils and appliances and the washing machine small but adequate for us. The lounging area in the center of the apartment was comfortable for napping and doing our internet browsing (the connection was weak in some of the other rooms, probably due to the thickness of the walls, but then again, that made for little noise heard from other rooms. We were so glad we picked this apartment since the location was much quieter than other parts of town and there were several good restaurants just a few steps away, on our street, right beside "our" canal...Great!!! The only thing to be aware of for this place was the number of steps to climb to enter the apartment...but that also helped us justify our many wonderful meals in Venice!!!
