The Alighieri “C” is one of the four apartments comprising the whole top floor of this authentic historical Palazzo with great canal views, found in the west side of Castello District, only a few minutes’ walk from San Marco Square, one of the last integrally authentic parts of the city. In the surroundings there are lots of artisan and antique ateliers, local food shops and delicious osterie (traditional restaurants). Some of the cultural landmarks that can be found in Castello beside the well-known Arsenale and Biennale gardens include the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, the Scuola of San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, the church of San Giorgio dei Greci, the Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Church of San Zaccaria and many others.
The Alighieri can be reached from Marco Polo Airport by private water taxi in about 20 minutes ride through the lagoon, or in less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Vaporetto (ferry boat) stop San Zaccaria, thus conveniently located.
The entire property has been completely and luxuriously refurbished in 2013: the elevator has been installed, the original terrazzo flooring and art-deco inspired inlaid parquet renovated, frescoes and stuccoes brought back to the ancient splendor, the spacious terrace equipped with table, sunshade and sun chairs, at the ground floor a Sauna is available for the use of guests of the Alighieri Palace on request.
This apartment can be accessed from a very bright and elegant shared entrance hall giving on to the communal terraces. It has a living/dining room with stunning canal view overlooking Rio di San Lorenzo and a modern kitchen. There are two double/twin bedrooms with two excellent bathrooms, offering total comfort and privacy to 4 guests.
Despite the rather small surface, the Alighieri “C” shares the same communal terrace and great view of the other 3 apartments, maximizing the bedroom comfort while offering less living room space.
All four apartments can be taken together for groups of up to 14 people: book directly on the Alighieri Palace webpage.

This lovely apartment was perfect for us! The bathrooms were great, the view was lovely, and the location great! I would stay there again anytime!September 2017, Mary (United States)
This apartment is right on the canal, close to many shops and restaurants and only about an 8 minute leisurely walk to St.Marco. All arrangements went smoothly from the water taxi, to Hannah who met us and was very friendly and helpful, and our stay in general. I would recommend this apartment as it was quiet but still close to all amenities.October 2017, Mike (Australia)
We loved our stay in Alighieri C. The location was great and the view on the canal was gorgeous. The apartment was very quiet with the windows closed. There is not much seating in the den, but a great place for our family of four.October 2017, Christophe (Switzerland)
Great apartment in a convenient location. Staff at Truly Venice were very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend.July 2017, Sue (United States)
When we chose Venice for our family reunion, we despaired about finding an ideal location for fifteen people for eight nights -- in high season! Truly Venice answered our dreams and more by suggesting the four apartments of Palazzo Alighieri. We were two grandparents, four adult children and their spouses, five grandchildren aged 12 - 21, and the site gave us all room to spread out, have privacy, gather for late night conversation, and more. Apartment C in particular suited a family of four. It's carefully furnished, light and cheerful, with lovely views. Privacy suits this group, so the apartment, slightly around a corner from others, was perfect. We used apartment B as our social space and gathering spot, with the grandparents in the large bedroom and one teenage in the sofa bed. It was ideal, with its large sofa and dining table in the spacious and gracious salone. Apartment A housed one couple very comfortably, while D held two couples with two young adults happily up in the comfy loft. And the terrace! Venice was HOT and quite crowded, but the terrace with its umbrella was where everyone gravitated after a long day sightseeing. We can't say enough positive things about our stay. The location is ideal, far enough from San Marco to be quiet, but close enough for daily treks. Many fine restaurants are close by, but again away from the tourist fray. The Truly Venice team made our planning and arrival easy and stress free, anticipating our questions and our needs at every step. Thank you!July 2017, D.H. (Florida, United States)
