The living room is particularly attractive both for architectural features and interior design: there is a large steel dining table, two iconic Le Corbusier armchairs by Cassina, the Ludwig Mies van der Rohe daybed by Knoll, the Noguchi Coffee Table by Vitra, and a remarkable contemporary art collection from the eclectic landlords who love to spend their holidays here when the apartment is not rented. The kitchen is compact but very functional and equipped with every possible amenity that enables the privileged guests to enjoy the rich Venetian food culture.
At the Leonessa there is a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and large shower, a second bedroom with the Duetto trundle bed by Flou (another designer piece) that must be walked through to get to the third bedroom which is equipped with a king size bed. The last two bedrooms share a second bathroom also with shower. The apartment is enriched by Murano glasses and mirrors and by chic Fortuny lamps. The apartment is perfect for 4 guests but is absolutely comfortable also for 5. It is incredibly bright because of the many south facing windows and the predominantly white interiors.
The amenities of this house include high quality bed linens and towels, air-conditioning in every room, satellite TV, DVD player and of course Wi-Fi internet connection. All appliances are new. There is a Nespresso coffee maker at the apartment.
Joining the Leonessa and Leonina apartments, door-to-door on the same level, you have the option of accommodating up to 8 guests at the Leone Premium. A perfect combination of style, technology and comfort that we highly recommend in particular to art and design lovers.
About the location: in the Dorsoduro District you can find plenty of interesting local artisan shops and art showcases in every corner, without the "hustle and bustle" that you might expect being so close to the city centre. It is also the student area, home to the renowned Venice Ca' Foscari University, therefore welcome more nightlife than the rest of Venice. The general vibe is creative, youthful and relaxed. The district heart is Campo Santa Margherita, only 2 minutes’ walk from the apartment: in the daytime you can find a nice open-air market, children playing, locals walking dogs, shops and cafes; in the evening several trendy or classic bars and restaurants opens till midnight and after.

We were thrilled both with the apartment and its location - the staff were very friendly and accommodating too. We had the combined apartments - which was ideal for our family of 8. Beautiful decor and very clean. Loved the little balcony overlooking a canal. Very romantic. Would highly recommend.February 2018, Gregory (Australia)
I feel very lucky to have stayed at the Leonessa while in Venice. Immaculate, well appointed, convenient to everything and in a fun neighborhood. The management was responsive to an queries; air conditioning and the washer/dryer on site was much appreciated. Perfect all around and I would return for sure.October 2017, Denise (United States)
We had a marvellous stay in the Leonessa apartment last week. Our family of 5 were very impressed with the services of Truly Venice including organising the water taxis to and from the airport, and for our day trip to Burano and back from Torcello. Everything worked seamlessly. The Truly Venice representative Lara was very friendly and competent with some great recommendations for bars and restaurants. The information folder in the apartment was very useful. And the apartment was very comfortable, stylish and very well located. We were close to everything, yet away from the crowds of San Marco. We will definitely return to Dorsoduro! If only there was something that could be done about the Venetian mosquitos....April 2017, Nora (Ireland)
Perfection. We stayed at Leonessa with our 3 children (2, 10, 12). From the absolute beginnings of our dealings with Truly Venice, every email, conversation, attention to detail was flawless for every aspect (to windows being dark for naps, heating and air conditioning, beautiful bathrooms and exquisitely comfortable beds and pillows). The apartment itself is magically special. Artistically creative and something that the photos do not do justice to. The location is opposite a pizzeria, gelato and Osteria. 3 minute walk to Vaporetto. Close central walking to Rialto and St Marks. Reviews are always subjective as I feel that people always only write about their positive experience. We have been traveling for 1 month now from Australia. This has been by far the best experience and apartment of 11 cities to date, and my only review. Please stay here. Leonessa is a remarkable apartment, in the perfect location, with the perfect company organizing every fine detail.April 2017, Angela (Australia)
Hi I just wanted to email you to say that we had a marvellous time staying in the Leonessa apartment last week. It was our best ever stay in Venice and we will definitely return to Dorsoduro!April 2017, Nora (Ireland)
We stayed in the Leonessa apartment for 3 nights, as we were then moving to the adjoining Leonina apartment when it became available. The location is perfect and the apartment itself was light, bright, quiet and perfectly clean, and also warm which was important during the cooler months. Truly Venice provided a seamless check in and were always very responsive prior to and during our stay. Check in by Thomas was very informative and very well done, there to meet us and carrying bags was all very much appreciated. Truly Venice are very fortunate to have such attentive people looking after their properties.December 2016, Therese (Australia)
We have been to Venice now 4 times. Stayed on the Grand Canal at 5 star properties, we will not look back after Truly Venice apartment stays. This property is exactly as it describes on their website - perfect. Elegant, stylish and comfortable way of travelling with young children. The apartment has all the trimmings, clean, great quality beds, choice of pillow profiles, two lovely bathrooms, a cute little kitchen and is on the second floor of a pretty fondamenta with water view. Very comfortable for family travel. With washing machine too! Air conditioned comfort and very beautifully styled with Fortuny lighting and Fornasetti furniture/accessories. Truly Venice staff meet n greet was professional and smooth. Great service. Highly recommended from this Aussie family. We would come again.July 2016, Angelique (Australia)
The perfect apartment in Venice! Unfortunately our stay in Venice is finishing. It is always such a pleasure to come back to this magical city and discover new sights, observing it with atentive eyes and feel the air of the Laguna. Participate of the Redentore, cross the votive bridge and be overwhelmed by the fireworks. Visit the Biennale, have our minds opened. Venice is always my favourite destination and I hope to be here again so many times. It is probably our fifth time with Truly Venice. This apartment Leonessa is superb. Very well furnished and decorated. Luminous, silent, well located, clean, comfortable. Very good linens and towels. Perfect in all aspects! The staff of Truly Venice is very professional and attentive.July 2015, Nilton (Brazil)
This apartment was fabulous. We were a family of 5 with 3 younger boys. We stayed for 4 nights and the place was immaculate and very comfortable. Definitely worth the money. The apartment was very well decorated to the point we felt we had to put some of the breakables away, so our boys didnt have the opportunity to break anything! The location was perfect, and you could easily walk to any part of Venice or of course easily jump onto the ferry. Would definitely recommend.January 2014, Richard (United States)
We chose this apartment because the interior and furnishings are the style that we have at our home and we wanted a holiday to relax and to feel at home. The apartment is lovely, we were very happy that there was an induction hob in the kitchen. All the fixtures, fittings, ornaments, crockery, cutlery etc. are of a high quality. Normally we have to take our own knives for food prep but everything was there. Location to get around Venice was excellent. We have stayed in Santa Croce, Castello, San Marco before however I liked being in the Dorsodouro very muchMarch 2013, Rebecca (Belgium)
Lovely apartment, great service from Daniela and her team. Absolutely 'feel at home' experience.July 2012, L.P. (Switzerland)
We stayed at Leonessa, Dorsoduro for 5 nights in January 2012 ( family of 5 including 3 teenage children). We loved the apartment and the location - easy access to the vaporetto, restaurants, supermarket. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We would highly recommend the apartment. Also, the services of Truly Venice were most reliable and helpful in every way.July 2012, Charmaine (Australia)
This is a lovely, airy apartment. We met the cleaner, Maria, who was charming. I can't say anything negative about this apartment. It is lovely and clean; bathrooms were good and although the kitchen is tiny it is perfectly acceptable. The area it is in is quite quiet although very busy at around 8.00 in the morning when people go off to work and the many students going off to study. Lovely and quiet at night though. Some great restaurants in the nearby area and just a 3 minute walk to the Grand Canal to pick up a vaporetto. Having walked around Venice a lot, this would be my first choice of area to stay in and we will definitely stay in this apartment again.October 2012, Moira (United Kingdom)
