Morosini

Dear Daniela and Gabriele,

Just a word to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay in Venice at the wonderful Morosini apartment.

During the day we visited wonderful places, museums and palaces and that was just incredible to come in the evening in the same environment to spend the night. It was a beautiful experience for everybody.

As Gabriele knows we left early Wednesday morning and we were a little bit chaotic, so, I just found in a pocket the note I intended to leave with the bottle of wine for the landlord to thank him for his trust and to tell him how we appreciated his wonderful taste for his apartment, if you could transmit these thoughts for us we would greatly appreciate.

I also want to thank you and Gabriele for the courtesy and the professionalism you demonstrated toward us. I will refer your agency to my friends with great pleasure and the Morosini apartment to the people we know that could take good care.

Our Truly Venice experience was a wonderful one. The apartment was amazing...so large, light and airy with a beautiful view from the four huge windows at the end of the living room of a small, but very busy canal. Each morning we would hear the sound of piano accordians and singers serenading people on the gondolas and water taxis bustling for position within the canal. Of course this would happen nowhere else in the world.

The apartment was furnished beautifully and equipped adequately. All we had to do was buy some fresh flowers and it felt like home. We even had two dinner parties whilst we were there, the kitchen being so well equipped that we did not miss a beat, who could fail with all that beautiful produce out there. One of the favourite things was that there was a washing machine and we could hang our washing out in the Venetian sun to dry - we felt like locals at last. Another plus for the apartment is that it has a small terrace lined with fragrant star jasmine, which catches the afternoon sun and then in the early evening the fragrance wafts through the house.

Location-wise the apartment could not be in a better position. Seemed like equi-distance from Piazza San Marco, Rialto and Accademia - a very easy walk to everywhere. It's in a tiny square right off a busy thoroughfare, with hardly a person passing through, so it was very quiet, at most could be heard the birds tweeting and the odd footsteps passing through every now and then.

The people at Truly Venice could not have been more helpful, anything we asked for was done quickly and efficiently.

We will definitely go back for this experience again. We have been coming to Venice for 20 years and have stayed in various hotels, but for the first time we felt like we lived there. Bellissimo!

Eden

We stayed in the Eden apartment at the beginning of June 2010 and as before, Truly Venice really delivers! It is a very nice flat for 4 people, on the ground floor, so easy access but down a secured private alley, very quiet (apart from the seagulls), nicely decorated and in very good order, everything is new.

It has a small terrace ideal to sit out on warmer days and evening to eat out, too (and to hang up your swimming trunks...very handy!).

Everything worked (very good bathroom and lots of pressure in the shower and plenty of good towels) and there is all one would need in the kitchen for simple cooking. There also is a dishwasher (for which there were was powder provided), which is a nice touch and just goes to show that someone is really thinking this through. Also basics like oil & vinegar and sugar etc, so excellent start.

The weather was mixed and some nights were colder than usual for the time of year and so we could have done with more blankets. Beds were very comfortable and enough wardrobe space for a months stay - and enough hangers, also again very thoughtful.

The location is perfect, we love the Dorsoduro (this is our 10th visit) - ideal for supermarkets and food shops for self catering and other conveniences, but also many restaurants and ice cream shops, not to mention the museums (Guggenheim, Academia and the new Dogana) and access to everywhere without being overrun by tourists and day trippers. Especially the proximity to several different water bus stops was perfect as we escaped in no time at all to the Lido for a swim - or in the other direction to catch the bus back to the airport and all the other sights in between times.

If I had one wish to improve the flat I would say - please offer more seating or a better sofa in the living room, it is slanting forward quite a bit and there is really not enough room for 4 people to sit comfortably - although the kids loved the huge beanbag! We will be back next year.

PS: We were met on arrival by a very nice young man who took us to the appartment and explained everything incl. the intricate recycling scheme. He was most helpful.

Everything was as pictured and advertised, and Daniela took care of scheduling water taxis to and from the airport for us. The experience was great, and we would highly recomment Truly Venice!

Dear Daniela,

We had a wonderful holiday in Venice made all the more enjoyable by having such a lovely apartment. We really enjoyed being able to buy wonderful produce from the local market and little shops and cook meals together....having such a lovely garden was a real treat too.

Comfortable beds, nice hot showers and beautiful pictures and and antiques to enjoy.

We particularly appreciated having three keys....it meant that we could go off exploring on our own sometimes.

Also the wine shop round the corner that fills your plastic bottles very cheaply was a great find!
